29 Ottobre 2007 - QUALIFICAZIONI, 2° Turno

Davide Bianchetti lascia il Qatar Classic Davide Bianchetti non è riuscito a qualificarsi al torneo di Doha, il Qatar Classic 2007, torneo Platinum Series dotato di un montepremi di 120.000 dollari. L'egiziano Omar Aziz ha disputato una partita di altissima tensione e determinazione in un incontro durato quasi 100 minuti, e ha sfruttato al meglio i punti decisivi negli ultimi due game teminati 13 11 e 12 10. Delusione per il campione italiano che teneva in modo particolare a qualificarsi in questo torneo ove spesso ha ben figurato. Omar Abdel Aziz (EGY) - Davide Bianchetti (ITA): 9-11 11-7 13-11 12-10 (96 minuti) REPORT da SquashSite: "WHAT A SHOW" If I tell you that Davide has found somebody who is even more intense and passionate on a court than he is, would you believe me? Oh boy. Did that Omar Abdel Aziz wanted to get into the Qatar Classic or what??? Every decision, good or bad, it really didn't matter that much, now, did it, was saluted by jumps up and down, loud "OH MY GOD", out of the court, back in the court, on the floor praying Squash God to give him patience, and the best line of the match, "it's not a stroke, it's a joke" (by the way, it actually was a text book stroke on that particular occasion...). Davide never lost his cool, only got one conduct stroke, and seemed rather mild and discrete. Still, it has to be stressed that never, NEVER, the players actually turned on each other, and stayed smiling and joking at each other all match long, even at the very close end... Like I said to Omar at the end of his match, "forget squash, and get into football, mate, you'll make a fortune..."! PS. First game, 21 min. 2nd, 24. 3rd, 28. 4th, 21...
